Shared Insurance Lead Slots
A shared lead can go to more than one buyer, and it cannot go to an unlimited number. Auto leads can be sold to up to 3 shared buyers. Home leads can be sold to up to 2. When those seats are filled, the lead is no longer offered as shared.
How a shared slot is counted
Each confirmed shared purchase uses one seat. Auto stops at 3 shared buyers. Home stops at 2. A checkout that is still open can hold a seat before it is confirmed.
Compare that with one-buyer access on exclusive leads. See pricing or start with free test leads.
What the cap means in practice
Shared buying is the path for coverage. You accept that other buyers can hold the other seats on the same person. The cap is by line of business, not by your account. An auto lead can be purchased by up to 3 shared buyers. A home lead can be purchased by up to 2 shared buyers. After that, the shared path for that lead is closed.
A seat is used when a shared purchase is confirmed. A seat can also be held while another buyer’s checkout is still open, so a card that looked available can close before you pay. If that happens, go back to the marketplace and open a different lead. Do not assume an old checkout still owns the last seat.
The price sits on the card before you take the seat. Older shared leads can move into lower age bands, and premium states are priced differently from standard states. The current bands are on the pricing page. The figure you pay is the one on the lead, not a flat catalog rate.
Shared seats and exclusive access
Exclusive does not consume one of those shared seats and then leave the rest open. When an exclusive purchase is confirmed, the lead is assigned to that buyer and removed from shared availability. It is not returned later for the remaining seats. Read when to choose exclusive if you are deciding between the two on a specific card.
Most desks use shared for ordinary flow and exclusive only when the lead is worth owning alone. If you have not bought here before, free test leads show the preview without taking a seat. The first paid shared order is still one lead, which is covered on your first insurance lead order.
You can screen the lead before you spend a seat. City, state, ZIP, a partial phone, a partial email, and, on auto, a vehicle line when it was submitted, are on the preview. The full contact stays locked. What the mask shows lists both sides.
The two shared caps
Up to 3 shared buyers can purchase the same auto lead. When the third shared purchase is done, that lead leaves the shared path.
Up to 2 shared buyers can purchase the same home lead. When the second shared purchase is done, that lead leaves the shared path.
How a shared seat gets used
- Open the lead. Confirm the shared path is still offered and read the price on the card.
- Match it to your book. Wrong state, wrong line, or a vehicle you cannot write is a reason to leave the seat unused.
- Check out while the seat is open. A confirmed shared purchase uses one seat. A checkout still in progress can hold one.
- Stop when the path closes. A full card is no longer offered as shared. Pick another lead instead of retrying a dead checkout.
What shared buying is for
Shared is the fit when you want more cards through the day and you can live with other buyers on the same inquiry. It is a poor fit when the first call is the whole point of the purchase. In that case the exclusive path, when the lead still offers it, is the one described on exclusive insurance leads.
Nothing on this page replaces the live card. Inventory, the open path, and the amount change. Use shared insurance leads for the broader model, and use pricing plus the marketplace when you are ready to take a seat.
Questions buyers ask
How many times can a shared auto lead be sold?
Up to 3 shared buyers.
How many times can a shared home lead be sold?
Up to 2 shared buyers.
Does an exclusive purchase use a shared seat?
No. Exclusive assigns the lead to one buyer and removes it from shared availability.
Why did a slot vanish while I was reading?
Another buyer may have paid, or a checkout still in progress may be holding the last seat.
Can I see the price before I take a seat?
Yes. The shared amount is on the lead before checkout. Pricing explains the bands behind it.
Take a shared seat only while it is still open
Open a live card, confirm the shared path and the price, and use free test leads if you want the format before a paid seat.
